I am on a strange island where reality plays by its own rules. The world appears topsy-turvy, holding my senses captive. It is not the sky but the vast blue ocean that hangs above me, defying gravity's grip. I reach up to dip my fingers into the cool water, feeling the salty breeze on my skin and relishing in the sea's scent. In the distance, I spy something odd—a see-through boat seemingly made of glass or plastic. I strain my eyes, hoping to spot someone onboard, but it is empty. I am alone.
On the sand next to me, I see the dark shadow of lemon trees but when I look around, there are no trees to be found. No bright yellow fruit. And yet, a zesty scent fills the air. It courses through my veins. I feel energized. I step into the shade. It is cool and fresh. I don’t want to go back to the world I know. I start to jog, building speed until I have enough momentum to leap into the water above. But no matter how high I jump, I always fall back onto the sand.
