"Working on a single terroir was an opportunity to bring together ingredients that we wouldn't have combined in a traditional context. I worked on Paraguay, with petitgrain, mate and gaiac. I wanted to create a fragrance that was fresh, but not a cologne; instead, I capitalised on a tea structure, mate being an essential element in a tea structure. The idea was to have mate and petitgrain respond to each other. What's interesting about petitgrain is its green, slightly astringent, pyrazine side. I capitalised on this facet to bring out the slightly green side of the tea. Then the gaiac wood will come in to warm up and bring sensuality to this note, to also give it staying power and persistence. It's a fresh, signature fragrance, unique and ... sincere!"
