Corfu Kumquat takes its name and raw material from the royal Greek island of Corfu. Kumquats proliferate on the island of Corfu. This small, oval-shaped, orange-colored bitter fruit arrived in Greece from China in the 1800s. Today, they are grown mainly on the north coast, made into liqueurs and candies sold on the island where Prince Philip grew up.
