Description

An aromatic intensity that is vibrant and mysterious. With Black Oregano, Atelier Materi revisits the aromatic universe through a vibrant, textured, and decidedly unexpected composition. A fragrance built around oregano, a unique and little-known raw material, which reveals all its raw richness and elusive depth. Black Oregano is a surprising encounter between cold and hot, between the lively tension of herbs and the enveloping embrace of leather and woods. A contrasting and unique composition that reveals the ambivalent beauty of the plant material.

Céline Perdriel

The Perfumer's word

"The inspiration came from a bouquet of wild oregano brought back from Portugal last summer. As I stripped the leaves, it felt like I was holding the entire Portuguese sun in my hands: it was fresh, radiant, powerful, and vibrant. I felt compelled to give this ingredient center stage, to treat it as a raw, central material around which I could craft a singular, deeply sensual trail. In creating Black Oregano, I wanted to contrast the raw, expressive, and singular presence of oregano with the sensual depth of leather. Using an aromatic note to evoke a warm sensuality might seem unexpected, but it was precisely this contrast that inspired me."
